Nidhi Gupta Ka Interview College Mein– NSIT

  • Khud ke liye civil service ka career kaise decide kiya? Iss decision se initial apprehensions or people ke reacions kya the?

Nidhi Gupta : Jab me college me thi, tab mere mind me civil services ko join karne ka chota sa thought tha, but maine placement liya because main financial stability or ek backup option chahti thi.

Adobe me kaam karte hue, mujhe pta chala ki ek sedentary cubicle job mere layak nahi tha. Yahi karan tha ki jab mujhe self satisfaction ke liye mere ultimate objective ko achieve karna tha tab maine civil services ka socha. So, that was the time jab maine apni job chodi and civil services ki preparing me lag gai.

There were apprehensions, but aap kissi bhi kaam ke liye, pros and cons ko le sakte hai or apne dum par decide kar sakte hai.

  • Preparation ke time several distractions (friends, social life, social network etc.) ko faces kiya hoga? Kaise inn sabko handle kiya? Preparation phase ke time kaise aap self disciplined bane rahe?

Nidhi Gupta : Kissi bhi aim ko achieve karne ke liye self satisfaction, discipline and dedication most important requirements hoti hai. Main bahut confident thi ki mujhe kya chahiye and janti thi ki main apne khud ke level par deviations nullify karna pad sakta hai.

During my time, WhatsApp or Facebook rukawat nahi the. But phir bhi chitchats/gossips ke form me distractions hote the. Isme bhi maine ye found out kiya ki kuch random talks bhi aapke personality development me help kar deti hai. So, kaise aap apne deviations ko manage karte hai and kaise aap unhe time management ke respect me prioritize (ehmiyat) dete hai. Ye puri tarah se ek person-specific (व्यक्ति विशेष) ka issue hai.

  • Kya aapne five/six years rigorous exam ke prepare ke liye laga diya? Preparing ke time social pressures ke sath sath aapne kaise enthusiasm (उत्साह), motivation (प्रेरणा) and temperament (स्वभाव) ko maintain karke rakha?

Nidhi Gupta : Enthusiasm self motivation se aati hia. Mera khud ka belief tha ki main apna target kissi bhi tarah se achieve karna hi hai no matter what happens. Jab main puri tarah se Adobe ke job me involved thi, then maine realised kiya ki studies ke liye jyada time main devote nahi kar paa rahi hun. So maine aapni puri energy or focus civil services me laga di.

UPSC exam ke liye a lot of inspiration and motivation ki jaroort hoti hai which should come from yourself.

  • Iske ilava, The UPSC exam lasts for a year, first the preliminary exam, then the mains followed by the interview? Kaise ek saal tak khud ko motivate kar sakte hai, twelve month ke process ke liye?

Nidhi Gupta : CAT or some other exam se bhi ek long process hai. But firstly aapko iske fundaments ko understand karna hoga, the spirit of UPSC behind this.

Exam ki length ke piche reason ye actually me UPSC ki spirit hai. The exam is, in fact, a test of your perseverance. Civil Services me joining ke baad kya jaroori hai uske liye apne cool, calm and composed ki ability ko check kare.

  • For senior players like you, same material multiple times revise karne ke liye kya motivate karta tha, jabki mind me vahi sab revision some time monotonous bhi hone lagta hai. To kaise iss momentum ko maintain karke rakha?

Nidhi Gupta : UPSC ka exam curriculum every year renew hota hai. Kuch portions add hote hai or kuch remove hote hai. So, revise karne ke liye boring nahi hota. Kuch portions static vala hota hai but uske liye conceptually ko clear karne ki jaroort hoti hai. Aapko sirf analytical and logical skills ko develop karne ki jaroort hoti hai, engineering background vale person ke liye ye boring ho hi nahi sakta.

  • Fact ye hai ki NSIT par, ek internship aur ek placement ko dhayan me rakhte hue, most of the people target, first apna organization ke sath kaam kare or sath hi sath education ko bhi pursue kare or straighway college final year ke baad drop out kare ya studies ke liye completely devote kare?

Nidhi Gupta : Again ye ek individual driven question hai. In my case, maine placement ko liya apne corporate life me ek small career ko aage badhane ke liye. Sometimes, external factors conducive nahi hai or aap apne goals ke bare me totally sure nahi ho paate ho.

Sab kuch decide karne se pahle jaroori hai ki sare factors ko dhayan me rakhe.

Agar meri opinion le to, to civil services me jaane ke liye sabse right time college ke baad hi hai. But agar aap enough confident nahi ho to, aap corporate sector me bhi apni personality ko enrich kar sakte hai.

Basically, aap upper ke three options koi bhi take kar sakte hai but sabse pahle aapko apne goals ke liye clear hona chahiye.

Paper attempt kaise kare aur answer kaise de?

  1. a) Kya hume balanced answer likhna chahiye aur stand kaise le?

Nidhi Gupta : Ek perfect answer ki tarah kuch bhi nahi hota. Sabhi answers kuch positives or kuch negatives vale hote hai.

Aapka answer keval shortcomings ko hi include nahi hona chahiye, but real problem or uske sare directions se solution ko bhi focus rakhna chahiye. Agar aapko lagta hai ki aap problem ke har pehlu ke bare me soch sakte hai to, ek stand lene ke liye ek balanced approach bhi hona chahiye.

  1. b) Kya answers me personal perspectives ko add karna chahiye like in GS-4 and in essays? New solutions ya ek problem ke liye perspectives me pitching ki advised di hai?

Nidhi Gupta : UPSC me inventively soch hone ki jaroori hai. Aapki khud ki aisi position honi chahiye jahan aap government policies ko influence kar sake. Aapke solution problem ko solve karne ke liye ek innovative mechanism provides karta hai, to India me aap aage badh sakte hai. So, if you have some innovative ideas, do write them.

  • Preparation ke time, UPSC ke badlte trends ko dekhte hue, kaise ek ideal candidate apni strategy ko more analytical and dynamic banaye?

Nidhi Gupta : UPSC exams me questions ka ek evolution kiya gaya hai. Agar aap previous year papers ko dekhe to, aap dekhoge ki questions pahle se jyada analytical ban gaye hai. Analytical skills ke liye aap sabhi relevant ‘whys’ ke baare me sochoge. Soch ko horizons karne ke liye widened hone ki jaroort hai or ek issue ke various facts par research kiya jana chahiye. Uske baad hi aap ek holistic answer de sakte ho.

  • Bahut sare log workloads ke chakar me duvidha me hai jaise postings, outside metros, political pressure, Group A v/s Group B and aage developed v/s BIMARU states, North v/s South, North-east states, Naxal v/s Non-Naxal etc. filling the detailed Application Form (DAF).

Nidhi Gupta : UPSC ki spirit aapko work hard karne ko kehti hai. Jab aap puri tarah aapna kaam dedicate kar dete hai, tab ye sare factors jyada time tak hinder nahi rahte. It all depends on what you want. Agar aap development, BIMARU or Naxal states me work karna chahte hai to its open for you. Political issues bhi judgment ke liye criteria nahi hai. But, language is an important criterion as language propels you to work better.

Regarding DAF as a whole, DAF filling important hai because apne interview kaisa gya hai kuch hadd tak determines karta hai. DAF me honest hone ke liye jaroori hai and good things will succeed.

  • Please tell us about 1) overall revision strategy, 2) last month revision strategy, 3) last week revision strategy and 4) last day revision strategy, jo aapne use kiya the?

Nidhi Gupta : Physics jaise optional subjects ke liye, handy notes prepare kara. For e.g. agar derivations diye hue hai to, aap scientist ke naam se or kuch fundaments of the derivation se hi start kar sakte hai or derivation ke liye kuch specific condition ko dhyan me rakhna padta hai.

Last week ke liye ya last day me, basic formulas ke revise karte hai.

GS ke liye, concept ka clear hona jaroori hai. On the last day, kuch events, last month ke few facts or international affairs ko brush up karna chahiye.

  • Kuch people prelims and mains exam se pahle raat ko anxiety, restlessness or sleep issues ko face karte hai. kya aap isse face kiya hai? Or iss problems se kaise bahar nikale ho?

Nidhi Gupta : Normal person ke liye Anxiety common baat hai. But agar aap thorough and confident ho to, aap easily anxiety se bahar nikal sakte ho. So, relaxed, calm and composed rahe.

Agar aap consistent preparation last year ke liye kar rahi hai to, aapka confidence develop hoga and sleep will tag along. Especially in mains ke liye sleep very important hai. So, agar aap one day sleep nahi karte ho to, aap whole thing ko mess up kar doge.

  • Kya role co-curricular activities, projects and interships interview me play karte hai?

Nidhi Gupta : Ye interviews isliye hota hai ki aap apne personality ko balanced kar paate ho ki nahi. Aapki academics already prelims and the mains exams me tested ho chuki hoti hai. Aapki leadership and management skills co-curricular activities me reflect ho jaati hai. Ye sirf aapki personality ka test hota hai.

  • IPS, IRS people ke samne aapne kaise khud ko defend kiya?

Nidhi Gupta : Ye question mujhe interviews me sabse pahle pucha gaya tha. Here, yahan aapki thoughts ki clearity ko check kiya jaata hai. Aise me cheezo ko sochne ke liye IAS officer ki tarah sochna padta hai and the opportunities that an IRS lacks. But apne previous job me positives ko bhi sochna chahiye.

  • Aisa kya reason tha jo aapne optional subjects me Geography and Physics ko choose kiya?

Nidhi Gupta : Maine physics choose kiya because mere hisaab se maine isse 2-3 years tak carry kiya hai as an interest. Meri yahi strategy thi ki main vo area choose karu jisme mujhe interest ho.
